Sparkling Wine Forum: an unprecedented event dedicated to innovation in the sparkling wine sector
On June 20th 2023, the Sparkling Wine Forum will be held in one of the places dedicated to innovation, the “Village by CA” in Reims-Bezannes, in the heart of Champagne. This major event aims to act as a link between the field of research and that of economic development and innovation at all levels of the sparkling wine industry.
The Sparkling Wine Forum aims to respond to the current concerns of the players in the sparkling wine supply chain. Built around the global challenge “How can sparkling wines cope with climate change?“, this first edition will propose several conferences and targeted interventions, mobilizing researchers from Champagne but also from other sparkling wine areas in France and abroad. The stakes are important for sparkling wines in particular, considering the threat that global warming brings to the preservation of acidity and freshness, which are often sought after in these wines.
Echoing these presentations, companies from the sector will take it in turns to present their research and development strategies and illustrate concrete examples of innovative products or services.
These various presentations will highlight the entire value chain of the sparkling wine industry: from viticulture and the environment to oenology and the expectations of marketing and consumers.
Making Champagne the global epicenter of sparkling wine
This event is part of the strategy pursued by EFFEVENT, the company that also organizes the VITeff exhibition, to position Champagne as an international crossroads of know-how and excellence for the entire sparkling wine sector. The aim is to bring together innovations developed around the world at the service of the sector and share them with the various players in the local Champagne community.
Going beyond this first edition, the international spirit of the Sparkling Wine Forum is reaffirmed by the organization of the future sessions according to a principle of alternation between France and other host countries, leading sparkling wine producers.
250 people are expected at this first edition of a professional event that is destined to grow every year: sparkling wine producers, companies in the related sector, oenologists, project managers, specialized press, etc.
All presentations will be translated into English or French and will be filmed in order to be accessible by subscription on www.sparkling-forum.com. This solution will thus allow optimum dissemination of the interventions to the maximum number of players in the international sparkling wine sector.
A Franco-Italian tandem: an event conceived by EFFEVENT and developed in collaboration with VINIDEA
Sparkling Wine Forum is an event created at the initiative of EFFEVENT, a company recognized for its expertise in promoting sparkling wine technology know-how, as Cyril EGOROFF, director of EFFEVENT, recalls:
“We already organize VITeff, the reference exhibition for the technical sparkling wine sector, which welcomed more than 350 exhibitors and 20,000 visitors in 2021. In addition to this, EFFEVENT’s ambition is to offer a comprehensive offer that meets the needs of the supply chain through the sharing of reference content and the organization of targeted events that better connect the world of research and innovation on the one hand and sparkling wine companies on the other.”
To realize this ambition, EFFEVENT intends to develop close ties with the main players in the sector, both in France and internationally. It is with this in mind that EFFEVENT has set up a partnership with the Italian company VINIDEA to organize the first edition of Sparkling Wine Forum.
Experts in the field of technical information on wine through their Internet journal on viticulture and oenology, Infowine.com, which is translated into 6 languages, VINIDEA has demonstrated over the past 20 years its ability to mobilize a network of 5,000 professionals and researchers worldwide, as well as numerous companies in the wine sector through congresses and symposia such as ‘Enoforum’.
As Giuliano BONI, VINIDEA’s training manager, explains, “The sparkling wine market is growing exponentially, so much so that by 2021 it will represent 22% in value of all exported wines1. In such a context, we felt it was important to participate in a first-ever event dedicated to the sparkling wine sector. Our task will be to activate our international network and spread the content of Sparkling Wine Forum to a large global audience through our various communication channels.“
